Switched from Celexa 15 to Zoloft 50
Tonight I made the change from Celexa to Zoloft. I got my period today, and I had been having that empty feeling since the post below. That would mean I had it for about a week before getting my period. How long does PMS last? It seems that I have worse PMS than I am used to. I've noticed this within the last six months or so but maybe just because I am paying more attention. I have been behind on sleep, not eating too well, not swimming enough, and traveling. All of these add to my depressive symptoms. I've also felt anxious lately. Lack of sleep makes me feel anxious and paranoid. On that note, maybe I'd better get to sleep!

My pms got worse as I got older. Week before: that sounds familiar. The other things you list certainly contribute. May the Zoloft be with you!! B
From what I understand, it is the progesterone increasing and the estrogen decreasing that put us in foul moods before our periods. That starts right after ovulation (two weeks before your period), but I don't think the mood swing happens right away. Check out http://www.coolnurse.com/menstrual.htm for info on hormone changes. They've also got a link to a nice synopsis of PMS. They mention calcium may improve PMS. I've actually heard this same tip from numerous sources. Taking a calcium supplement is good anyway - to strengthen your bones so you won't get osteoporosis when you're old. Take no more than 500mg at a time, because your body won't absorb more than that. And for your age, you should take it twice per day. If you take calcium carbonate (cheaper), you need to take it with meals to absorb it. If you take calcium citrate you can take it anytime. I hope the PMS improves with the Zoloft!
I am on such a cocktail of meds, it's hard to know which one is the leader that helps me along.
Wellbutrin SR 150 MG 2xday
Neurontin 300MG x2 at bedtime
Seroquel 25 MG 2x day
Seroquel 100 MG x1 at bedtime
Clonazepam 0.5 MG 3x day
All help with anxiety and depression. The night time pills help me sleep too, but during the day I don't feel drowsy. Go figure.
Hope the meds help. They take awhile to work.
My name is Daniel Wilson and i would like to show you my personal experience with Celexa.
I am 27 years old. I took this drug on and off for 3 years (2 years on, 1 off). It definetely helped my anxiety. The major side effect was the weight gain. Trying the new version (Lexapro) now. I'm hoping it will have better side effects.
I have experienced some of these side effects-
Weight Gain, diarrhea.
I hope this information will be useful to others,
Daniel Wilson
